Hi, thanks to all who read and try to help.
Please excuse the long post but I am an absolute beginner!
My desktop PC was running fine on ntl (virgin media) then the tower stopped working. I have been given another by a friend but it was originally running on AOL.
Can anyone please tell me how to get this to ntl? I am having to access the internet through internet explorer but nothing seems to work right. I click on desktop icons and they go to AOL which of course will not connect.
Threre must be a simple answer....mustnt there?

Thanks again and please remember I need help without too many technical words, there are still some of us oldies who are new to all this...but am loving it!!

I'm not fully conversant these days with AOL, but unless it's changed, you will need to uninstall the AOL software, as this is bad news.

I take it the new Tower has an Ethernet port ?
