Default Access Point Issues

We recently purchased a WAP54G Linksys access point off amazon, we have connected it to our wired Netgear router fine, however when we take out the power cable, the LED lights go off.

Any solutions would be much appreciated.

It would do Sam, the same would happen to your TV if you unplugged it while it was on.
I think there is more to your problem than is obvious please be more explicit?

By the way

Welcome to TCF.

Default Access Point Issues

The box requires power, it must be plugged into the mains at all times.

Sorry about that, I meant to explain that it is a wireless G access point and it should be working wirelessly in conjunction with the computer.

Thanks in advance.

So you are or are not unplugging it from the mains?

Yes, we are. However, since its a wireless access point, one (or maybe two) of the LEDs should remain on as it connects wirelessly to the computer.

Incorrect, it MUST be plugged into the mains at ALL times.

Wireless mean wireless data, not wireless power.

Unless its solar powered how exactly would this device work with no mains power, I mean would your TV work if you unplugged it?

I'm closing this thread, this is actually ridiculous.

True
