Hi,

I've recently signed up to Sky Broadband and have received my wireless router. However, I'm having problems connecting, because I'm not 100% sure my Ethernet port is working properly. I have an Asus P5b WiFi Deluxe motherboard and on each side of the Ethernet port is a light. When I plug the cable in, the orange one lights up and stays constant, the other one doesn't light up at all.

On the Sky wireless router, the relevant port light is orange rather than green. I've had problems with this port before - it wouldn't work with my previous supplier, so I had to use the USB connection instead - this isn't an option on this new router unfortunately.

So, any ideas how to sort out the Ethernet port problem, or what the problem could be? All advice greatly appreciated thanks!

One light will stay static to show a cable is connected, the other flickers when data transfers down the cable.
