Default ASUS WL-107G limited or no connectivity

Hi guys, i was wondering if you could help me.
well here is the situation:

i have a small LAN that is connected to the internet, the network consists of 6 computers (3 PCs and 3 laptops), these are all connected to a wireless buffalo router (laptops wireless, pcs wired) i am with virgin media and have a 20MB connection.
I have bought a new laptop (Toshiba Sattelite pro A10) and bought an ASUS WL-107G wireless card for the laptop.
i plugged it in and as per usual it detects it and i installed the drivers etc.
BUT
it says on the software that i get with ASUS that i am connected fine but i have limited or no connectivity!!! and cannot reach the internet!!
i have reset the router for a couple of minutes... didnt work, took off all other connections on the network... didnt work, tried disabling and reenabling the laptops wireless connection, didnt work, repair the connection, etc.... any ideas guys? i know i am probably just missing a small detail that will make me kick myself
All help is greatly appreciated! many thanks guys

hummm yes i would try it in another machine, has one of your laptops not got a wireless in, but you say you have bought a new laptop, usually all new laptops have wireless built into them, so why have you bought the card??

sorry should of done some research before saying it had wireless, no it dosent have it built in does it.

ok yes try it in another machine, but to be honest i hate using the pcima slots on the side of the laptop, never ever had any good from it, USB is just so much easier i belive, but one thing you should do is use the latest drivers for your card:
http://support.asus.com/download/dow...&model=WL-107g

just click on wireless and select the your operating system, to my knowledge it will be XP but i maybe mistaken.

wireless technology from other machines should not impact on your machine, but to be on the safe side, turn all other wireless items off (but i have no problems because i have this computer connected wirelessly, even though i have a psp connected to it and an ipod touch plus 5 other routers in the area but all the other routers work on different frequencies so no problems there and i also have a microwave oppoisite my box so i would get alot of interfearence from that but it is all well so i would expect no problems from anything esle in your area)

also you may want to place your self next to the router to avoid any other interfearnce, you may also want to consider putting it on a wired connection and going to windows update to make sure it is all updated.

reply how you get on.

p.s. sorry it was long winded hope you understand.
