Yes. You need to call your ISP, internet service provider, and tell them that you would like to have your IP address refreshed. This may be difficult because not all ISP Techs will know how to do this. You may need to call them a couple of times to get the correct technician that knows how to do it. You also need to have a good reason :)

If you have a dynamic IP simply resetting the router should do it, though.

Yes. Its because you didnt actually change your IP. Your actual IP is directly controlled by your ISP. If you refer to my post about calling your ISP, that will give you the information you need to correct the problem.

This information above applies to the majority of people. Those who dont know how to change dynamic ips, and log into their router and reset the proper settings.

Just a thought, your being banned may be tied to both your username AND ip address.

The quickest, surefire way for anyone who doesnt know how to change the settings directly, will have a much easier and better way of getting back on to the servers by taking the 15 minutes to put in a call to your service provider.

Ny ISP is virgin and lots of people say that they will not reset the ip without a good explanation. Also so what you are saying is that if i change the mac address it does not give me a brand new ip address.

Virgin is static, I am on them too, nothing you can do yourself. They would need to change it and I doubt they will.

I'm with Hybr!d. VM wont change your IP unless you've got a really good reason for needing it. Changing your MAC address wont change your Internet IP but it might change your Local IP. You could always get in touch with one of the moderators or admins in game..

Your MAC address is just the hardware ID for your network card, you could just use a different PC for the same effect.

Changing it will do nothing to help you. You are IP banned.
