I have just installed the BT Home hub, which is working fine. However I cant view
available wireless networks. I get the message: -

Windows cannot configure this wireless connection
If you have enabled another program to manage this
wireless connection, use that software.
If you want Windows to configure this wireless
connection, start the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC)
service. For information about starting the WZC service,
see article 871122 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base on the
microsoft.com Web site.

I have tried to sort the problem from this acticle but I am not having much luck. I can't find ' change settings for the connection'.

Can anybody out there speak computer idiot language and help me.

When you have a wireless connection on your PC you can either use the inbuilt windows software or the software that comes with your wireless receiver.

It sounds to me that the windows software has been disabled in favour of the software that can with the wireless card/usb dongle or inbuilt antenna.

Have a look in the task bar or in your start menu programs for some branded wireless software that is managing your connection.

It has been taken over by BT wreless connection manager.

Is there any way of changing it back.

You need to go into the BT software and disable it, windows should then automatically take over.
