Hello all

Please forgive me if this is already posted, but have googled and searched on here for a solution to my problem and haven't found one yet. There's a more detailed description of my computer and internet connection in my signature.

I have successfully connected to the Internet via my wifi card and in the Network and Sharing Center of Vista it shows my network access as "Local and Internet", but sometimes without warning my connection drops and then my network access shows "Local Only", the signal strength shows that its strong as the modem/wireless router are only in the next room (about 10Ft away)

Ive successfully got my connection back by renewing the network IP address, but sometimes that doesnt work.

What could be the cause of my network access going from "Local and Internet" to just "local only"?:upset:

If it helps anything, my roommate who owns an Acer 5335 laptop has no problems keeping connected so I'm guessing that crosses off the modem and router as the problem. Also Ive disabled my internal wifi and used a Dlink DWA130 adapter, but does not solve the problem (still get my access knocked down to local):4-dontkno

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thank you
