My main PC (Windows Vista Premium) is connected to the internet via an ethernet cable to a router etc. It has been fine p until now. Router is working fine and has green lights for everything. However can not connect to internet. If I turn on my laptop which has a wireless Bus Card it connects to the internet fine via the router. So was wondering if any one could suggest a way to rectify the problem via the PC ?? Could it be the AV software ? I guess doing a system restore might help ??

Sometimes routers have a nasty habit of de-putting-in-all-of-your-information, (that well known verb) if you open your browser and type in your default gateway.*
From there you can view all your routers settings. (NOTE: you may have to sign in first, by default this is generally USRNM: admin PSWRD: admin) Have a look to see if there are fields to do with internet access and connection that are not filled in, if you have a made a backup copy of settings previously, or your router has for you, you can juts roll back to that. You may also want to try manually reseeting it on the back of your router (IMPORTANT: Press only! Or hold for very short period of time to make sure. Most routers use 5 or 10 seconds as a COMPLETE reset, meaning it will delete ALL your settings, you may have inadvertently done this previously and this is why you cannot connect.) *If you dont know this do as follows: Start > Run > CMD > "ipconfig"
