I have an older IBM thinkpad, but up until now i haven't had any issues with it. I'm able to connect to the internet through both wirelss and ethernet broadband connection but i can't access the web or anything else. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. I've deleted profiles and recreated them. The end result is still the same, i have a connection and can even ping websites but i can't use firefox or internet explorer.

anyone have any suggestions?

Ok.

Go to Start > Run > type in cmd and hit enter > now type ping www.yahoo.com

Note the space between ping and www.yahoo.com

Please let me know the results in your reply.

Regards Jason.

Have you tried doing a repair?

Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Network Connections > Right click Local Area Connection > Select Repair

Does it even say connected in Network Conections?
