Dell Inspiron 6000 intel proset wireless failures hopefully my title was somewhat specific as to what exactly i've been dealing with for the last hour and a half.
here's the more detailed rundown:
my sister reformatted her dell inspiron 6000. she's running windows xp sp2. she just finished installing the necessary wireless drivers and integrated broadcom adapter drivers, and got the rest of the machine set up.
yet her machine does not access the internet, nor does it access the network we have. we tried numerous times to reconfigure, inputting the key code for our network, and repairing the connection. i even downloaded an update off of the microshi7 website and gave that to her via USB. and post-update, it still did not access the network or the internet.
it claims it has limited or no connectivity and when we attempt to repair and renew the IP address, it hangs, and claims that it was unable to acquire the address.
strangely enough, even connecting it via lan cable also receives limited or no connectivity, despite having all the drivers necessary, and not needing to patch into the network since it's a lan.
she and i are both at a loss for what to do. any help would be greatly appreciated.
any further information you need, please ask for and i'll be happy to post.
