Are you in or near gillingham?

Testing your speed by downloading files off another website IS NOT going to give you an accurate figure.

Run the test on that broadband speedtest website to test the TRUE speed of your connection.

Downloading files from other sites is governed by many other factors such as the quality of the server the file is on and how busy they are.

yes i am in gilingham. i spoke to virgin and it cost me like 5ver for the call and all they told me was that 250kbps is what i should be getting downloading and i am actually downloading at their maximum speed. so why the hell do they call it 2mb internet. nothing realtes to 2mb in my eyes. and it costs 25 quid for 4mb internet so my whole package will be £55 !!

2MB does not mean 2 Megabytes.

It means 2 Megabits per second.

To get your actual download speed you divide Megabits by 8.

2MB = 2000 Megabits divided by 8 = 250kbps.
