 Does This WEP Cracking Adaptor Work? Hi all I am considering bidding on this adaptor to crack WEP network passwords. I want to use it to progress my understanding of networking. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AirPcap-Cace-T...1%7C240%3A1318 Does anyone know anything about these adaptors that they could enlighten me? How good are they at cracking passwords? Thanks |

| Does This WEP Cracking Adaptor Work? Not really. Even if WEP wasn't hilariously weak as it is, it's a pretty good (if not the best) way to learn about intermediate networking stuff like MACs and packet injection, and if the OP's just using it for that purpose (which he seems to have alluded to) it's perfectly fine. I'd just hit up Aircrack and check the recommended adapter page. Anything with an Atheros chipset works pretty well, afaik. Don't spend that much on some specialty thing, just grab a regular NIC, this won't do anything more for you.
