hi, i have a netgear router and have installed on my laptop and found a connection with between router and laptop.
isp confirmed everything working fine.
bt telephone confirmed everything working ok.

when i run the cd to install, i follow all steps with connecting wires and filters etc and when it comes to connecting to internet (it will not let me get far enough to input password details) it fails.
dsl light is flashing .,wireless light solid ( i am using ethernet for initial connection) power light on and port light on.

can anyone help please.
by the way i have moved house, router was working fine in old house but can't get it up in new house, again checked with service providers.
thankyou.

That means there is a line problem, could be the line is down ie: a problem at the exchange.

It could also be that you do not have filters on all your phone sockets.

If this is a new setup it could also be that BT have not activated the phone line, they have a habit of giving you a date then forgetting to do it.

I had a similar problem when first getting broadband here, they had to go to my local exchange and change my supply to a bigger cable even though they said everything was working ok.
