Hello guys,
Hope someone will be able to help me out with this: After I restarted my comptuter (was in a sleep mode) I could not surf the web anymore. Anytime I'd start browser (Firefox and then even IE - which i use rarely) I would get the standard message: Address Not Found...bla,bla,bla. So I assumed that the internet provider (Comcast) is messing up again. But my roommate's internet is just fine. Okay, so I reinstall the Wireless driver and reboot. No success. So i try to plug my computer directly through cable (Lan) to the modem - that always works. Again, the same response: Address not found. Weird: I check my DNS, IP, everything is fine. The drivers are fine, all devices working properly, I receive my IP without any problems anytime I restart and moreover my laptop is constantly receiving and sending packets; yet I can't browse. Even more weird is the fact that I can use Skype without any hassle. To sum it up: internet is working fine. Skype works ...but both my browsers are on strike. So I reinstall Firefox as a last attempt; I also restart the whole thing in a Safe Mode while being directly plugged to my modem through cable. Even in Safe Mode I can't browse. At this point I am giving up and looking for help here. I've never had this problem before. Anyone can help? Will be much appreciated, Christina |

Ah this is a wierd little quip that I came across a month ago or so, not sure whether or not it's deliberate.
All you have to do is right click the network icon in the taskbar (with the two computers and a red cross - when its not working) and select connect to, then choose your network and click connect.
