Also have you tried turning off the firewall and other security software?

i dont know the names of the viruses
there was one main one that came with the keygenerator
but then it downloaded many others when i restarted my computer
then stuff just stopped working
i dont have any virus protection/firewall running currently
when i plug in the network cable it goes through the motions of connecting
getting the ip address but when i click advanced and look at the ip #
there is nothing there

If you can not get it working I would suggest running some scans in the Virus, spyware and security forum.

Would you mind posting the HijackThis scan log.

Select "Do a system scan and save log file"

Post the log here.

Failed To Query TCP/IP Settings Of The Connection

ok so just the other day i installed my usb wireless network adapter to see if it would make a difference. Well the adapter connects to the router and says it has 100% signal strength.
Its gotta be connected because it recognizes my router network name but wont access the router
i tried putting in the ip of the router but wont let me access it

Failed To Query TCP/IP Settings Of The Connection

ok so i did some reading up and i decided to copy over my tcpip.sys file with a good copy from my laptop
when i went to copy the file over my computer only had a tcpip6.sys
and no tcpip.sys so i copied both files over and restarted and now my computer takes like 15 minutes to start up and it runs slow as fck
but now when i connect to the internet it shows and ip of 0.0.0.0
and when i hit repair it says couldnt renew ip address
but the computer now show numbers under the status when it didnt before
it seems to be working but its still not recieving packets
