ive got a netgear WGT 624 and all the time it goes down and i know for a fact it isnt my cable modem going down, i found it goes down when im streeming video of the net, so i decided to scrap it and go with a new router preferably the n range, theres 3 makes im looking at linksys, netgear and d link and also theres a linksys by cisco so im gathering that one will be the best yeah?

This is the best router you could probably buy and is the default recommendation for most people. You can flash it with custom firmware as well.

well wired connection is out the window as my parents hate wires in the house, im looking at the website i linked below and im looking in particular the linksys by cisco, anyone care to comment?

You can flash it with custom firmware to get more functionality out of it.

Well if you enjoy paying two times the price for very few features over even the stock WRT54GL you could do it, or if you plan to do an N network, but a WRT54GL with custom firmware gets you the equivalent of a much more expensive router and is respectable at stock as well.

Carbon, the WRT description confuses me a little, does it have to be plugged into a telephone line to use it?

I'll explain what I mean: it says it's four devices in one box (or something like that) and goes on to talk about bridging and switching etc.

But can it be used to recieve a signal from another router wirelessly, and distribute it through its ethernet ports?

Like the WET54g does which costs twice as much?

I presume not, because of the pricing, but I might be missing something
