| Not sure, but I find it unlikely that it lacks that functionality. It's pretty insane what DD-WRT/Tomato unlocks.

| Might be worth a shot then, its so cheap comparatively with anything else. I only want it for Xbox Live and Samsung Media 2.0 on my TV. They're so far from the router. |

I have used it loads of times before and am going to set two up tomorrow. It'll do wireless bridges, client bridges, WDS, pretty much everything. You can make the WAN port just another LAN port on the router if you like. Completely get rid of the router functionality. They always had to have an external modem anyway...

So why do they also make the WET which costs twice as much? |

| Because they don't expect you to flash it with DD-WRT.

| to test if its the wireless ive put a cable to my pc to the ethernet ports of the wireless router and it seems to be working until i opened up firefox and it couldnt connect to the internet, i went downstairs where the virgin media cable modem and my router is, i pulled out the ethernet cable connecting the router to the modem and i plugged in my laptop to the modem via the ethernet port to test if its the router faulty or modem and low and behold the modem wouldnt show up the internet, i then pulled out the power to the modem and plugged it in again and it worked, so my question is, what on earth is wrong with my internet? |

| Either the modem had just locked up, and a reset fixed it, or it is just on the blink. See if it happens again and if it does get Virgin to send you a knew modem.

| Going back to your original problem, when the wireless signal drops, what exactly happens ....i.e. does the cable light on the Modem still stay lit ? ..... can you connect to the Internet, if you plug the Modem directly into the PC, does the Internet return ? Also what Virgin package are you on ? ..... are you sure it's not Traffic Management kicking in ? |
