Hi,

I watched this video to change my ip address and it worked sort of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJ_r8jfyyvw

It changed my MAC address so it would change my ip and in the ipconfig thing in the CMD thing it changed the ip by 1 number however that IP address was not the same IP i get when i go to www.whatismyip.com

The ip i see in the ipconfig thing is much different than the one i see on the website how come it didnt change it? how can i change it? thanks!

the ipconfig shows your IP address either to your network, or to your modem, whereas the IP on that website is your internet address, which is also in the form of a IP address.

are you connected to a router?

Changing your mac address does not change your IP.

Your IP is set by your ISP and can only be changed by them, or use a web proxy to change it, but that will mean very slow internet as you will be passing your traffic through another server to use their IP.
