| I'm trying to set up a WLAN to my Xbox, but I'm having some problems, mainly due to the fact that I'm completely clueless about most computer jargon. I've managed to pull through with most of it, but I'm stuck at one point. The Xbox will always fail on the 'IP address' test. I've sifted through all the possible problems, and I'm sure that I've put everything in correctly manually. It still doesn't work though, so I need to get the information automatically, from the router. Trouble is, I think I need to enable DHCP to do that, and I have no idea what that means. What is DHCP, how do I enable it, and is it the thing I need? |

| Dynamic Host Control Protocol. It's how your router automatically assigns an IP address to connected devices. Iim no expert with Xbox's so I can't help you there. It is what you need |

| Searched online for other people with a similar problem. Found this site that has a few useful comments on it, not exactly the same problem but does address some or your issues. Hope it helps -Doug Ha Ha, almost left without including the link!
