Default Help going wireless

i am on adsl bigpond they say i have to buy a wireless modem router from them to access the internet can anyone give me an idea whether this is true i have an offer on an adsl modem router much cheaper and was going to buy until i talked to telstra.

Hi,i live in the uk and i currently have normal DLS cable broadband internet with AOL, i have just bought a wireless laptop and am thinking of changing to wireless. If i do this do i have to phone AOL and pay more or do i just buy a wireless router and just plug it in to my current broadband, please could you help me with this.

huw03017861, you dont need to call AOL for that. They'l probably lie to you and say yes you need to buy a router off them or they'l try to upgrade to to a wireless package. AOL are c*nts that way. Just buy a router of your choice and put your settings in. i recommend a netgear dg834g. i'v only discovered one flaw in it so far which might not be a problem for you. But i think there very stable and keep a good connection, even with AOL lol
