Default Help a WiFi Dummy from Scotland

I have just got a free wireless router from my cable provider. I have also just purchased a Toshiba Netbook with built in WiFi. I have rather naff Dell Dimension Pc which only has a LAN network connection (no wifi network).

Can I set up the wireless router to my cable modem and have a wired connection to the Dell pc and then a wifi connection to the netbook?

Or do I have to buy a wifi card for the dell in order to use them both? I hope I explained things clearly as I am not technically minded.

If the wireless router has an ethernet port you can wire it to the PC and have the netbook connected wirelessly. The only thing you can't do is have the modem hooked up to both the PC and router at the same time - everything has to go through the router, wireless or not, if you decide to use it.

, Thanks I will be linking both to the router, the router has an ethernet connection so this should be ok then, I hope anyway. Thank you for your prompt and extremely helpful reply. My wife cynically thought no-one would respond.
