I'm currently in China for vacation, and due to really silly government regulations, all Chinese-manufactured networking devices like modems and such has a firewall that prevents access to any popular foreign sites like youtube.
Does anyone know how to permanently disable these firewalls (software methods, I don't think I want to or know how to take apart the modem or anything)? Proxy only provides a temporary solution, and since proxy does not allow downloads, it still does not solve the problem since I can't even access file sharing sites such as mediafire. Thanks. |

Hack the Chinese government, otherwise you'll have to put up with it or use a proxy. The firewall is at data center level. Not your hardware level. My System: Hybr!d

Ahhhh the Great Firewall Of China.
I've never experience it but I hear it is a PITA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interne...ublic_of_China Theres no easy way around it, except for setting up a VPN back home and sending everything over that I guess. Sorry I have no other suggestions.
