Default How do I connect to router on main PC?

Open the network connections then right click local area network then click status.

On the support tab will be default gateway, that is your router IP.

It will be something like 192.168.1.0

Probably best to make a note of it for future reference.

You can also view the key on the main Desktop by downloading this support tool:

http://www.easypcscotland.co.uk/WirelessKeyView.exe

It'll let you see the current WAP key stored in the Desktop's registry, and you simply copy it into the Laptops key input box.

This is assuming the desktop is wireless also, if it is on a cable then this tool won't work in your situation michuk.

That is also a very very valid point!

Your network is usually set up in this kind of fashion:


Phoneline/Cable <--> ADSL/CABLE Modem <--> Router
(ADSL usually has this intertwined) <--> Computers1,2,3,4.


And on top of this, you'll probably have magic wifi "LOOK MUM! NO CABLES!"...

My desktop is connected by cable to modem and router. I think I may no the code. So I going to try later. Hoping it will work.
