heyy guys i noticed i have a high internet usage while my computer is idling and thought it would be a good idea to get a program to cut off my internet while i push the button or sumthing to save bandwith. does anyone know of a program that can do this? (a free one with luck)

I would find out why your usage is high while idling. Maybe you have some malware on your PC.

im sure im virus free... if there was a virus i would know about it (trend micro, www.onecare.com, spybot)

i just need a program where i can cut off internet, trend micro has an option for that but i diddnt choose to install it....

You could always disable the connection. I don't know of any program that strictly cuts internet off. Internet connection isn't too troublesome either... takes just as long as reseting your ip (repairing network connection). Hope this idea helps.

That's true about the maleware too. Another good one to try that will give you a detailed reporting of your system along with not to heavy on your system... Spyware Terminator.. You might want to try looking for a bug with another program... Yours may be corrupted by the malware and ya just might not know it.

Then go into Add/Remove programs, and choose change, then select the option you deselected and it will install it.
