hello,
i'm new to computers. i have 2 computers right now and i'm trying to set-up my network connection. i bought a d-link switch but i do not know how to use it. i do not need to have my internet connected to both computers. but what i need is to have both computers to be connected w/ each other so that we can play games like counterstrike, warcraft and other games that can be played together by network. so how do i set-up my network switch? what are the steps? please help. thank you.

well with your network switch... it should have came with software for the switch. You're also going to need cross over cables for this to work. What would be alot easier is to just buy a router and connect everything through the router (which the router is connect to the internet) then just host games on whatever company supports that game (for instance Blizzard for warcraft and steam for counter strike)... this is going to be more organized and easier.
