| I can see in the manual that it's an option, it wasn't obvious first time through. Shall we try with the minimum Keep Alive value, 20 seconds? I didn't know it was limited.

Did you need to change the Client Lease Time to 0? If there's still a problem then it could be that one of the computers is trying to do its own dial-out and interfering. That's in the Control Panel Internet options, it ought to say "never dial". Can you check they both say that, and make it so if they don't and tell me you changed it? Note to readers: I'm still completely puzzled how anyone can run Ethernet through the streets outside, the standard's limited to 100 metres from one machine to another. If there are any Americans reading this who use DSL with PPPoE could they join in a bit and explain how close the ISP's collector has to be to put all these customers onto the fibre link. Can they run more than 100 metres now on twisted pair? My System: Tim

| Ok I choose Keep Alive: Redial Period : 20 seconds over Connect on Demand: Max Idle Time: 0 Min Also I checked and both computers have their Internet Options, Settings, have all the little icons set to "Never Dial". I will have to check later if this worked (setting Keep alive to 20 seconds) |

| Just an update. The internet still goes down when both computers are on (every once in a while for a few seconds). I got no idea what to do, well I have been living with this for some years guess I will take it for a few more. Thank for help anyways. You been very help full , and thanks for your time. |

| You've checked the router and the computers, you need to ask the ISP to raise a ticket at their end and describe what you can see happening. They're responsible then for talking you through whatever checks they need to do but they can't just leave you like that, it's not a fit service. I'd hope they'd check their cable and discover it needed boosting or cleaning or a dead rat taking out of the sump or whatever.

| Ok, will talk to the ISP. However the one reason I have not done so already is because I thought it has something to do with me and the router we use. Do you know if buying a new router will fix this or is this totally unrelated to the router? |
