Be sure to get it for free - you just formatted your PC and bought a new router or two just to try if you could connect.
If they come back with anything, tell them that you have tried it, no matter what it is.
Sounds like you just need to get rid of the ISP.

But yes, as you say, they certainly sound as though they are at fault.

Yeah problem is I only just started with them about, 3 months ago, so I'm still locked into the contract, and it's gonna cost me a few hundred just to leave.
I've got a technician coming out tomorrow to see if he can fix it, and if he can't, he says he can provide the proof that it's Optus's fault and not my computers and they have to do something about it then. Cause I've asked them to send someone out but they say it's my computers fault, and nothing to do with their internet service!
I wish I stayed with AAPT tbh, never had a problem till now.

If you can't connect to the Internet then the contract is void.
If they don't send a technician then you can cancel the contract on the basis that you are paying for a service you aren't receiving. They would then have to send a technician round to prove otherwise. Though I'd make sure in the fine print of your contract since I know some companies are shady about this sort of stuff.

You don't have to pay them if they don't provide the service.

Great. That's good to hear, especially when i've been with them ofr only like 2 months or so. Especially when I'm in Australia and i'm paying $100 bucks a month for internet that's only 8 gbit and a 20gb download cap.
When I was DDOSed all the packets I was recieving made me go over my 10gb limit by over 60gb or something, ended up costing me $400 and they would do nothing about it.
Gotta love that quality service. But I'll tell you how it goes with the non-isp tech this afternoon.

Sorry did mean mb.

Alright so, had a guy come look at it, charged me like $100 bucks, just to say it's the ISPs problem, not mine.
Rang up Optus and complained because I wasn't getting a service, spoke to a higher level technition, he said, "Reset the modem and try a new phone cable" and then suddenly it worked. (Even though I had changed the cable and reset the modem many times.)

Just another ploy to act like it wasn't their fault, I assume, cause its amazing how it just suddenly works after I complain. haha.

Oh well. It's working now, and it still says the domain.invalid thing, but I guess that's just standard.

Thanks for your help guys.

It says that because it's set to that in your router. In the router change it to penis and it will say penis.
