hi guys

new here and am in need for some help.

basically, despite having full connection, my laptop tells me it cannot connect to pages after about two consecutive ones. i know i have full connection on my wireless network as im concurrently running my desktop (ubuntu linux) and having no issues.

when i repair my connection i get full access again without problem, for about 2 pages! its doing my head in! also im getting silly little problems such as websites being very 'buggy', not letting me click on links or when allowing me access, failing to load. two examples of this are hotmail and the inbox feature on facebook.

secondly, im experiencing a problem across both computers when downloading software or updates. i can get around half the file downloaded before an alert pops up telling me that the source file cannot be read. this is happening on my laptop (windows xp) and my desktop (ubuntu linux).

any help would be much appreciated

A problem that bugged me for ages has possibly now been solved.

When you set up your wireless, you may have an option for security looking something like:

WPA and WPA2 security

Make sure you don't choose that one! The trouble is that the WiFi cards in your computers get confused after a while and drop the connection. Just choose an option that is either WPA alone or WPA2 alone.

I assume the trouble is via WiFi? You don't make it clear.
