OK, here is the wireless NIC im using for my gaming PC.

http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=531

i know some people dont like that NIC but it never failed me before. So here is my problem. my laptop (when connected to the internet) says it has an "excellent" connection. However, my Desktop with the Dlink NIC in the link says i have a low connection. I made sure that both computers are connected to the same router. Why is it that my laptop gets such a strong signal and my desktop doesnt? i have the latest driver installed for my NIC. this is really starting to make me mad since im lagging my @$$ off on my multiplayer video games.

Assuming they are both in the exact same location i would have to put it down to the card you are using.

are you connecting to a draft N router? and does your laptop have a draft N card in it? or does it just run on G?
