| If Tiscali told you its not possible then its down to you having a USB modem I guess?

There's a good chance that won't work with vista because of driver compatability, a lot of my customers are in the same boat. Tiscali don't supply routers to their customers unfortuanately so you will need to get one from somewhere else. You need a router with built in modem, i can recommend one if you need me to. Let me know if its definitely ADSL and if you need wireless or not. Seeing as you have a laptop the wireless routers are the same price as non wireless so now would be the time to go wireless if you fancy it. Dave. My System: Hybr!d

| thanks for that. You have already recommended me a wireless router and I have bought a Zyxel one. I presume then that I need to follow the instructions for setting up this wireless router and all should be sorted??!!! |

| Yup, good choice, basically a router will now manage your Internet connection rather than your PC and Tiscali software as was before. All you need to do is program the router with these settings as per your instruction manual: Router setup for a Broadband connection Then leave it powered on all day everyday and you will be always connected when you turn on your laptop, no dialing or running of Tiscali software, just open up Internet Explorer and away you go. To setup the router and wireless you will first need to plug into the router via a network cable, then once it is programed you can remove the cable and go wireless. |
