I have a Dell Latitude C800 running Win. 2000 Pro., and for whatever reason, it will not connect to the internet outside of my home. I have a Microsoft wireless card (which I use at home) that will not connect in Wi-Fi areas. I also tried connecting via ethernet in a hotel room, and the connection was established, but I could not access the internet. Apparently an auto-run page was supposed to come up in Internet Explorer describing the Terms and Conditions, but that never happened. Any help is much appreciated...

Are you setting up the security passwords if needed?

There were none needed. At the hotel, they said to plug in the ethernet cord and a window would come up in IE telling you the terms and conditions. That happened on my uncles laptop when I tried it, but not on mine.

Probably an IP issue, a reboot with the cable connected normally sorts it.

Haha, yeah you would think. I tried that several times...

Then it would be a case of entering a manual IP, to do so would require some details about the hotels setup.
