Default Local Area Connection icon not seen

I need help. Just installed Windows XP Pro: Service Pack 2 Edition and my internet is not working. In the network connections there is no icons. Not even my Local Area Connection. The plug to the internet is in and is green, and it works in VISTA just not in windows XP for some reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Go to your device manager: Right-Click "My Computer" and select device manager, then see if there are any yellow question marks, and see if there is one for your network card. Either way, you'll need to install the drivers. If you can't access the internet, you'll need to know which network card you're using, and go to the manufacturers website and download and install the drivers. This should work.

Thanks Sin, you led me on the right track
