Default Need a Router Suggestion

I am looking to get a wireless router, yet I have no idea which one I am going to need.

I need a good one for gaming. I need a router in order to use xbox live on my 360 since my comp is too far away from the system. My computer is about 20 feet away from my xbox, so I assume that can help. I need a router than can provide interent across my house, and in case I put a computer in my room.

Basically, I need one that has a little distance and one that is good enough to allow gaming.

Default Need a Router Suggestion

I'm in the same situation..but instead of a 360 i wanna set up a network with my desktop and laptop, where the desktop is wired via usb to the router and the laptop can be connected wirelessly anywhere in my home...which means the signal might have to penetrate a few walls...

I've been looking around and i think a wireless G router would be good enough for this? I'm hoping so because my laptops has built in a/b/g wireless and i dont want to get another wireless adaptor for sufficent range =(

Go for a Linksys WRT54G, or a U.S. Robotics. If you need one that has a long range, through a lot of walls, you may want to get another access point, or a larger antennae with it. They aren't very pricey at all, and either one of those should do the trick.

The main reason I want the router is for Xbox live. My 360 is very close to my computer, and only 1 wall is really in the way. Its about 20 feet from my computer. I would like to get the router also in case we want to have internet all over the house.

I have a Linksys Wireless - G 2.4GHz Broadband Router on my second floor. (spare bedroom)

I can use my laptop anywhere in the house and yard. (including the basement)

It's easy to set up and inexpensive too. (around $50)

A friend of mine bought a brand new one (in box) from a computer show for $30 + a receiver for an additional desktop $20 = totalling $50 (sweet deal)

Oh yea, if the guy up the street didn't have security enabled. I would be able to use his signal, because his network shows up in my console. (talk about range)
