I can't get on line.

My broadband provider says all's fine their end, but that my PC doesn't recognise the router.

It was installed by my husband's firm, and I don't have the disk.

I worked fine, using a network cable from the router to the pc.

Then my brother installed a Belkin wireless G notebook card for me. At that point, I couldn't get on line.

So I uninstalled the Belkin card, but the pc doesn't now recognise the router.

How do I start again?

My objective is to use the pc wireless.

(Please use no acronyms - ordinary language only guys!)

First, there is no need for a disk, you connect and configure via a web page.

Start-->Run... and enter CMD to get a command prompt.

Type the following followed by Enter:

ipconfig /all

You should get a section for each network card (wired or wireless) with IP addresses like 192.168.0.x What do you get?

If they are 169.254.x.y the PC isn't connecting correctly.

Installing a Belkin card will just be coincidence, believe me!
