| In my Network Adapters in Device Manager, Activa is there. As for finding viruses, I do it manually. Virus Scanners just do it automatically. There are lots of easy ways to find them yourself in case you do have them. I just check my startup regularily and all my processes. |

| If you are on the internet alot you need anti virus program installed. I suggest you first install those do a full system scan and then we can check for other problems. |

| Yes. The way you say you check for viruses is not sufficient, and I highly suggest you install a free AV program (Avast!) and do a scan. Or if not just post a HijackThis log and then we can easily see if you have malware on your system. How does this computer connect to the network, wired or wireless? More importantly, you said you were able to get it working again by restoring to the previous day. Is it still working? Did you install or change anything shortly before it stopped working? I've moved this thread to the Networking forum as it will be better suited there.

| Accidently restarted yesterday. I tried for two and a half hours just to get online, nothing worked. I tried deleting Ativa (network adapter) and it wouldn't delete. Eventually Windows let me delete it because I had erased one of the previous updates, I had to reinstall it again. Tried making a new wireless connection with the installation CD, that didn't work. Tried countless restore points, didn't work. Eventually I went to the 18th restore point. Saw no connections, but tried the internet anyway with MSN. Didn't let me, and said that my computer's IP was wrong. So it offered to repair it, eventually it did and I could get online.. With still no network connections showing. I'm at my wits end. :( |

| Hi Materix, I still believe you should get a proper antivirus on your computer like Avast! as well as superantispyware. You then need to update those and do a full system scan. It really worries me that you do not have a virus scan like Avast! on that computer. Or Avg for that matter. Matters could get worse of you don't stop it now. |

| Alright. I downloaded AVG 8.0 and ran it. It found some stuff, but it hasn't fixed my Network Issue. :| They're still all missing from my network connections. |

| severguy, yes i'm using a wireless router. And this issue started when I installed a Windows Update. The last one, actually. And it's only working because I tried fixing my I.P Address, though the network connections are still gone. |

| That was my Ativia Network Adapter, wasn't it? If not, where is my wireless driver located? |

| Hi there. This is what my Network Connections looks like at the moment. ![]() I'm running an Ativa Wireless G USB Network Adapter #4 with a Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller. They're both working properly and installed as well. This issue started when I installed the last windows update. Here is my windows update log. ![]() Any ideas what's causing this and how to fix it? |
