Default Network Problems afrer instal new Hard Drive

I installed a new hard drive, reinstalled Win XP Pro, and now can not access my network.
The wierd thing is that I can access the broadband internent so I know the cat 5 cable etc is working fine. I can not locate any machines drives etc.
I also notice that when I go to start there is no "My Network Places" where there used to be on right under "My Computer"

When I go under my network connectins I have 2
1) 1394 Connection (Connected, Firewalled)(1394 Net Adapter)
2) Local Area Connection (Connected Firewalled)(Intel(R) Pro/1000 networ...)

After using a flash disk and running network wizard several times still nothing in "My Network Places"

Would really appreciate any help.
