I want to use my laptop downstairs while watching TV, so I am looking at getting a wireless router.

I am looking at some N routers, but I see that some of the new 802.11ac routers are out now, and so I started looking at them.

I found and read from several articles that the 802.11AC certification won’t be issued till early next year even though a few of them are out now.

Are the 802.11ac routers out now “Wi-Fi Certified”?

I don’t think they are, since I read that the WiFi Certifications don't start till March or April of 2013.

The articles I read indicated that the early ‘AC’ routers launching now could have problems with products made after the wifi certifications has been issued next year.

    Is this really the case?

It seems better to wait for 11ac, right?

I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but what internet service provider are you with? most will provide a router-modem "Superhub" in my case from Virgin Media.
