Default New Router

I need to get a new router for my computer and I know absolutely nothing about them. My current one is a D-Link DI-524 and I need a wireless network set up for my house. Let me know if you need any more information. Thank in advance....

Do you have any particular wishes?

Such as an inexpensive solution, faster one for media streaming etc.

Also do you already have any wireless network card/sticks? As the spec of them may limit the router you can get.

All I'm really interested in is being able to access the internet from my laptop. As for wireless cards, I don't know if i do or don't have any.

ok, so if you just want interenet im guessing you want something trustworthy but not overly expensive?

Heres a cheapish router, but made by Netgear which i've always found to be perfectly reliable.

And matching USB wireless stick, which is great (Have one myself) and never fails.

Hope that helps?

I'd prefer something that I could just walk into a store and buy.

The Netgear is a pretty common router but it may or may not be available in a store you can "just walk into".
How are people supposed to know what your local store has on offer?

In which case any router will probably do, because there won't be a huge variety in store.
