i'd get a decent 802.11g modem router, spend 60 quid on it, and then 100 on something else. Odds are you'll never hit the max speed.

Nope, you do know amazon is like eBay in some areas.

You could be waiting weeks for delivery.

It would help if you say whether you want the latest tech or not.

Your much better buying from:

ebuyer
dabs
novatech

the fastest speed from broadband at the moment is ~20mbps, the typical data rate for g is 19mbps. Most people aren't even near this, and quoted speeds are very unlikely to be actual from ISP's. DVD quality video takes about 10mbps, decent quality music is streamed at 384kbps. There will be no lag from the wireless setup, with only 2 users. The market will move on from G, of course it will, but it doesn't mean it won't suit peoples needs. ADSL wise i can't rate demon high enough.

I agree with Dave, look for proper suppliers, ebuyer is good. Especially with the tenner discount for using google checkout. BroadBandBuyer is also good specialist place.

Right but if you get say 50% signal strength (which is average) you wont get the full broadband speed, somewhere like half then according to your speeds.

If however you use mimo and you get 50% signal strength (and that's low considering the signal is better) you will still maximise your broadband and get full speed.

Can't go wrong for £45, no frills broadband.

Zyxel are very good kit, not well known but very big in Europe.

Software is also auto setup, unlike any Netgear or Belkin.
