Hi, so I just figured out that both my ADSL modem and router need to be changed So I am going for:

-> Netgear DM111P ADSL2+ Modem
-> Belkin F5D8232UK4 N1 Vision 300Mbps Wireless Cable Router

I have ADSL 6MB/s as download speed and 512KB/s as upload speed.

So are those 2 items stated above compatable with eachother

The netgear modem is adsl whereas the belkin router is cable. Also, why do you need two different devices where there is many many options for modem and router in one. In fact most routers now have built in modems.

Check whether you are on a cable line or 'normal' line.

Go for this instead:

http://www.netgear.co.uk/rangemaxnex...ter_dg834n.php

Combined ADSL modem, ethernet and 270mbps WiFi.

You will find the WiFi cards to use this pretty expensive though.

I have the Netgear DG834PN which is 108mbps and adequate for your needs. You will never attain 108, but it is faster than your 6mbps. Plus, you can buy it with an adapter for £70 on Amazon, quite a bargain.

Yeah, tnx. I wanted to go for 2 separate modems so that I could port forward ports myself. Also, yesterday just contacted Belkin about the N1 Vision and they told me:

"All routers require an Ethernet, RJ45 broadband connection. It doesn;t matter if the connection is DSL or cable."

So that's why I opted for the N1 Visoin instead of the N1 cos of its functional panel :)

About the Netgear you suggested Mike0001, how much is 'expensive' cos I did not see a price??

Also the router has to be MIMO as that is my basic requirement!!

The DG834PN is MIMO and includes port forwarding.

I was looking at prices of around £70 for the N cards. The DG834PN is £70 delivered, including a USB dongle.
