Default PEAK LAN wireless internet router and card problems

Hi every im new to forums!

Ok so my boyfriend has just bought a PEAK LAN internet stick and he has a router which currently sits in the living room and the computer is upstairs in bedroom.

there was never anything wrong with the signal/connection, but the past week the connection has been failing and the best signal we have been able to get has been "very low" or "low".

It disconnects all the time, sometime doesnt connect at all. Any suggestions?

Is it worth moving the router around? or maybe even the computer?

Or uninstalling the software and re-installing it?

thanks

Lea

Range tends to be governed by things like distance and obstacles.

You can also try setting the wireless channel to 11, from experience this tends to work better.

Also messing things like long range and turbo settings can squeeze a bit more signal from the router.

Best thing to do is have a play and monitor the signal strength via the wireless PC.

Like I said wireless doesn't like walls.

I cannot really comment further as I do not know the layout and build quality of your house.

Try moving the router closer to the PC or try changing the settings as above to 'tweak' it better.
