my laptops wireless only works when i uninstall it then reinstall it.

when i turn on my laptop the wireless doesn't work i have to go to device manager and uninstall it then when it automatically reinstalls it works and allows me to connect to my home internet connection,

but when i either log off, shut down or change account then log back on to any account on the laptop it doesn't work again and i have to go and uninstall then reinstall again.

the laptop is a toshiba satellite L40-139 i am running vista home premium not service pack 1 (wont install) and the wireless card is
Atheros ARG5007EG

any help will be greatly appreciated as i have already spent £60 on this problem when it happened before. i think it could be quite simple to fix but i have tried everything i can think of

thanks in advance reece

Have you tried opening Services.msc in the start bar and right click -> Disabling Wireless Zero Configuration?

I've heard this can cause all sorts of issues with wireless connections and random disconnects, not exactly your issue but might be worth a shot.

If SP1 wont install, I'd recommend getting that sorted. Might flush out your problem. Could be the driver is written for SP1 and SP2..
