hi there can anyone help me get my bluetooth device sucessfully installed on my vista oem laptop, i have downloaded the latest driver, but becacuse this does'nt carry any of the added software that is in the disk (such as file transfer via a mobile phone for example, or quick connect to gps i cannot use it, plus vista always keeps trying to find a driver for me no mater what.
ive tried downloading the original driver cd with the added software then updating the driver in device manager but vista keeps looking over my shoulder when im asked to plug in the device telling me how it doesnt recognise it and that its going to start searching the net for a driver it eventually gives up on , using valueble cpu power in the process :( |

32 bit or 64 bit (it matters). If its 64 bit then if the driver is not signed then there is really nothing you can do about the drivers thing until Microsoft assimilates it. If you are able to get the drivers to work on the device then there should be no issue just unplugging it is not recommended as it will search its database each time first. There are a lot of new issues with vista and incompatibility and a lot of them are being fixed. Maybe its just a matter of time. If you can find the original drivers with software then thats probably the best bet first make sure the device is uninstalled on the control panel and the device is removed, Install the software first (must be signed for vista 64 bit if that is the case), then try plugging in the device after everything is complete. If that doesn't work you have to get the drivers .sys file and place it into the system32 drivers folder so that its easy for microsoft to find
