Default Problems With Wireless Router & Vista

Hi There,
I am new to this so please be patient with me on this one. I would really like your help with this as i have been scratching my head for days trying to get it working. So here goes...

Right i have a laptop which is running Windows Vista & i have been wanting to connect to my wireless network for a long time now. The thing is i had it running a while back and it worked perfect but something went wrong down the line and i do not know what it is. (I will try to explain) When i try to connect to my router with my laptop it says Connected but also says ' Local Only ' i cannot go online, all i get is server not found.(In Firefox that is) So i check my settings and it all looks good but it just does not get me online!

Let me just say that i have recently reset my router because it just went offline one day and i tried everything else.( Could that have effected anything) I set it back up like it was in the first place and got my Mini Mac to connect to the wireless network. That was not problem but it seems my laptop with vista is having problems. I have tried all different methods but i have no luck. I am using a Linsky Wireless Router by the way! If you could tell me what i could do so that i can get it working again then i would GREATLY APPRECIATE THAT! Really...If i have missed anything that is important for you guys to know so you can understand where i am then please ask away. I need to sort this out.....Thanks...

By the way i did not know what i was doing in the first place with setting up a wireless router. I just found some instructions one day and somehow got it working. So for all i know its settings could be wrong....I have no documentation with it as it was just lying around and i though i would try and get it working as i have my Mini mac, Laptop & Xbox 360. Now i just got my Mini mac working..PLEASE HELP!

What is the model and version number of your router? You will find this on the label underneath the router.

Log in to the router and check all the settings like wep key are correct, also make sure it is connected online.

Does the Vista laptop work when connected to the router via cable?
