Hi There

I am trying to connect to a compnays computer through RDC...however it is not working - I have used RDC many times before with my XP, however this time it is not working and I am not so sure why. Recently for some strange reason our "servies" got messed up and we had to slowly figure out which ones whould we disabled/enabled - so it could have to do with that. COuld you please tell me what services need to be enabled for the RDC to work? And any other suggestion to why the RDC is not working?
Thank you soo much!
P.S. when I try to connect it gives me the following error:
"The client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new connections. It is also possible that network problems are preventing your connection. Please try again later"

I don't have an XP to check the services but I'd suggest running a port-scanner to check you've no unexpected firewall you're unaware of between the machines, that might solve your puzzle quickly.

Why are you asking here, shouldn't you be asking your IT department at work?

Maybe they are the IT dept. Maybe the company is small and doesn't have one. What a dumb comment.

I expect it's a firewall problem.

How do you connect in to your work? Do you set up a VPN first? Opening up the default RDC ports to your computer from the internet is damn risky.

May I suggest using Teamviewer instead?
