Default sharing printer

Hi,
I'm relatively new to computers and would like to get some good advice so I do things right the first time.
My wife has her own computer upstairs and I have my own downstairs. We share a dial-up internet service now. (can't get highspeed where we live)
We want to buy a printer and be able to use it from both computers.
Please tell me the best way to do this . I'm not as concerned about cost as I am about using a system that will do the job.
I've read about "networking" but maybe you could simplify things for me . Thank-you!

You could buy the Canon Pixma MP600R which has built-in wire/wireless connection that is made able for those who would like to share the printer. About the dial-up connection since the wireless sends transmissions through the wireless router I do not think that you have one. But I might suggest you to buy a wireless router and then plug it in your modem and then you could be able to hagve wireless printing :)
