Default switching different providers

im currently with AOL and have been thinking about switching, not too sure to who yet i wanna know som info before hand

apprently when i cancel AOL if they know im going else where they will give me a MAC code. i then give this MAC code to for e.g. orange.

what does this MAC code do and how long should i expect to be offline through the transition. i mean obviously orange will have to send me a new router/modem etc etc so whats the deal here

ive read it takes up to 10 days, but is that 10 days offline

Default switching different providers

A mac address is like a transfer key for BT so you get a smooth swap over between providers.

Yup, 10 days is minimum really, also, stay away from Sky or The Carphone Warehouse.
