Hi,

I'm seriously considering migrating to TitanADSL, and I've read nothing but positive reviews. However, I'm wondering if anyone here has had any problems with them or if there are pitfalls I should look to avoid.

Many Thanks,
Michael

I haven't heard of them, who are you with? Why are you changing?

Absolutely 100% yes.

Best decision you will ever make. Honestly.

They are not the cheapest, they are not necessarily the fastest, but they are a role model of how an ISP should be run.

I changed to them a) because I wanted English tech support, b) because I wanted static IP addresses, and c) because when I phoned them up the first time they were so helpful and said they could sort out everything I wanted for hosting the servers I have at home.

Anyway, rang them up again and ordered. 5 days later I was all connected, plenty of email correspondence from them. They will normally reply to your emails within 5 or 10 minutes, and I have had emails back from them in 10 minutes at 2 in the morning. They have guys there all night.

They rang me up once to ask if everything was OK because they had had a problem, which I hadn't even noticed at that stage.

If you have any problems they really will do anything to sort it out, and if you email them they will phone you up late at night if you are unavailable during the day.

I wanted reverse DNS setup on one of my IP addresses, something that BT had never heard of and I gave up with them. One email to Titan, 5 minues later I was told it would be ready to go in about 12 hours. Sure enough it was.

They have no problems dealing with less than standard setups, and will help you set up any modem / router / Linux router distro you want.

There speeds are also very good, with no traffic shaping here.

They really are superb. I cannot reccomend them enough. I've also had a fair share of other ISPs, most of which have been hopeless (BT, Eclipse, Orange.. god they were useless)

Edit: There website isn't the best / flashiest but it shows an honest company, and they'd rather talk to you over the phone than conveying a false message through a posh website.

Seems a pretty solid review, tough to beat that.

The reason I wanted to change ISPs is because my current one, Namesco only offers 10GB/month for £25. Which isn't a good deal at all, but their current packages are even worse.
They're not a bad ISP at all, Namesco, in the 3 years I've been with them I've had a problem and the support has always been very helpful (and English!)
I know I shouldn't ask this, but what are Titan like P2P wise?

There very good with it. I tend to download a lot of TV shows to watch and they have no problems with it. I've even spoken to them about it.

There off peak from 10 at night till 8 in the morning so I just download then, which they are fine with.

Well I took the plunge and ordered the 30/300GB package on Friday night, and I'm now just waiting for confirmation and then activation!

If you have any questions or think the email is late or whatever, just ring them up or fire them an email.

I seem to remember that my confirmation email took a long time in coming because it got marked as spam which I didn't realise.

Yes, I've heard their support is excellent. I haven't been expecting any communication from them until Monday at the earliest. I ordered at 10PM on Friday, and I don't expect they work Saturdays.
