Hi, I have just connected a laptop to the network using a cable. I have plugged the cable into the wall socket and plugged the other end into the laptop.
In the bottom right hand side fo the computer screen appears to little computer screen stating that I am now connected. but when I open up internet explorer I cannot surf the net, there is no connection. When I open up network properties there is x number of packets sent, but none received. A colleagues laptop connects to the network/internet using this wall socket and cable. When I say network this is purely internet connections, not a server based network Can anyone help? I receieved a suggestion else where that Ipv6 could be the problem so I unchecked that and so the laptop now just has TCP/IP checked, well along with other elements within the properties. Also I receive a meesage saying that my prefered connection, (the wireless connection) cannot connect, that is becasue the laptop comes with a wireless connection on/off button. :) |

Turn off "disable" the wireless connection and see if that helps.
