I would really appreciate any help y'all could give me with this problem. I have a brand new Dell Studio Quad Core Computer running Windows Vista.

The problem I am having is that I keep getting kicked offline. I do NOT use a router, I connect directly from the modem. My ISP is Cox and therefore I use Cable to connect to the internet. I have tried three different modems and I still have the same problem. Every five or ten minutes (sometimes more!) I get kicked off of the internet. It is extremely annoying.

I have had a Cox technician visit my residence and everything seems fine on Cox's side. Further, all my modems show a constant internet connection. My only guess is that it is something with my computer. I have turned off all the firewalls that I can find. I am at a loss and don't know what to do.
